In my home school group they have a band; Beginner, Jazz, and Advanced. I have learned piano so now I know notes now and I want to join the Beginner band. What instrument do you think I should learn? I don’t want something common like trumpet or something big like a tuba.

ok so i am 1 2 and i play clarinet in band and jazz band at school [not to brag but i am the only seventh grader in my jazz band]
i also play the piano witch i just started private lessons about nine weeks ago it is a challenge but i have social anxiety and am dyslexic so music is the only thing i have.
i was thinking that mabey when school was out i coulp approch my parents and ask about mabey getting private clarinet lessons and starting trumpet over the summer.
what do you think about this? will it be too much for me at one time…….should i go for it or should i wait?
i practice my music every day piano about 30 min- 40
and clarinet about 20 min [ unless i get a new peice of music i will play for about 1 hour]
thnx for reading this!
if not trumet what is another insturment you would suggest for me to start playing?

I am beginning to learn theory in jazz by taking piano lessons, but right now I really need a cheat sheet or a guide to different chords for the trumpet. I have quite a few to improvise under here so instead of typing them all in it would be great if someone knew of a website I could find the scales that match these chords. i have looked around google but trying to weed out all the guitar tab and chord websites it incredibly hard. Can anyone help me out?
PS
In case someone is generous enough to actually give me the scales for the chords ill write them here anyway.
-Emi7
-A7
-Bmi7
-C#mi7 (flat 5th)
-C7
-Emi
-C9
I am pretty sure this isn’t a blues chart so I cant really use B flat blues for the whole solo but is there a scale i could use over this whole thing?
Any help appreciated.

I already play piano (grade
Violin (g5) clarinet (self taught) and i sing. I really want to play something that is a typical jazz instrument and i loVe the trumpet. Is it easy enough to be self-taught on the trumpet?

I am currently at the RCM grade 9 level in piano and the grade 4 level in harmony. I am thinking of getting myself into Jazz piano and Jazz harmony also. I want to start out by playing jazz music that is at the level equivalent to the level I am at in my classical music studies, or the level that is suitable for me to start at. Does anybody have any suggestions on books that have a large collection of jazz piano music that are appropriate for me? I am also looking for suggestions on Jazz Harmony/theory books. I prefer the ones that also provide you with guidance on how to improvise (I also play the trumpet in a jazz band), and also how to read lead sheets. Thanks!

I’ve played mostly Classical Piano for eight years but I’ve played Trumpet in a jazz band, I’m currently interested in learning how to play and improvise jazz on a piano.
What are the best books that can help me learn how to improvise on piano?
Is it possible to be able to get really good at improvisation within a period of several months? (With heavy practicing of course)
Should I look into getting a piano instructor for jazz or could I just learn it on my own?
Thanks in advance!!

I really want to learn classical piano, but I also love Jazz and Blues Piano. Would most teachers be able to teach all three?
What classifications should a teacher have?
Oh yeah I’m not a complete begginer at piano, I had lessons for two years but stoppeda few years ago, I need a new teacher so yeah. That explains the question….
LOL!
Hehe just to add on to that…
I’m a singer and I also play Trumpet…
IS piano a good idea as well?
