I love playing jazz songs on piano for recitals, and at the moment I have no idea what to play, and I told my piano teacher I’d have a couple of songs for next week. I like upbeat, rhythmic jazz pieces. I can play up to one song at every recital (my teacher kind of dislikes jazz, she is more into classical… bleeegh)
The last one I played was Gershwin’s Prelude No. 2. I love that song so much!!!

Anyone have any good jazz piano solo songs that they like to play? If so, how can I get my hands on em???(preferably without paying)

Does anyone know of a great piano teacher in Manhattan?

I’m thinking I want to take jazz piano lessons, but I am open to any style if the teacher is really great.

I’ve been playing classical piano for several years, but am really interested in learning to play jazz. There isn’t a big jazz scene in my town, so finding a piano teacher has been really difficult. Can you recommend some piano pieces and theory books I can look at to get into jazz?
